If you have been out to the Dundee Driving Range lately, you may have noticed some new steel going up. The A.O. Wagner Construction team kicked off another project there the first week of May, and we are pretty sure this one is going to be a hole in one for golfers in the area.
If you followed along with our first project at Dundee Driving Range in 2023, you already know this range has a special place in the community. Established in 1948, the Dundee Driving Range has been a fixture for golfers in Winter Haven and beyond. This latest expansion builds on that legacy, and when it is done, there will be six new covered, tech-equipped bays ready for golfers to enjoy rain or shine.
New Bays With Shot Tracer Technology
This expansion adds six new covered bays to the existing range, each equipped with seating and Shot Tracer technology. This is a popular feature that tracks ball flight and gives golfers instant feedback on their shots. It is the kind of upgrade that turns a practice facility into a destination for golfers.
The new structure is a Whirlwind pre-engineered metal building tied directly into the existing facility for a cohesive look.
Foundation and Steel
Before the steel went up, the A.O. Wagner team excavated the area and installed new continuous concrete footings along with individual footings for each steel column supporting the structure. To connect the new addition to the existing building seamlessly, rebar was used to tie into and extend the existing slab.
With the columns in place, the crew is currently finishing up the wall girts. Once those are complete, roof panels, wall panels, and building trim will go on to close out the structure.
What’s Next
The project is on schedule to wrap up by May 22. When it is done, golfers at Dundee will have six new covered, high-tech bays ready to use no matter the weather. In our books, that’s a hole in one.
