Wauchula Gets a Couple Steps Closer to a New Woody’s Bar-B-Q

The A.O. Wagner Crew’s hard work is starting to pay off at the site of Wauchula’s new Woody’s Bar-B-Q restaurant that we started on in early August. We’re excited to share an update! Let’s take a look at the latest pictures to see how the space is shaping up.

Up first, we have our progress on the dining area. We’ve removed the drywall and ceilings, removed the existing walls, and removed the tile from the floor, as well as some of the existing HVAC and electrical work. In the back, you can see pipes that have been roughed in for the plumbing for the ADA-compliant bathrooms, which will be enlarged to accommodate wheelchairs and feature ADA accessories like grab bars.

Once the plumbing is inspected, we’ll pour back the existing flooring in order to receive new flooring. From here, we’ll install electrical and HVAC, continue to install furring strips to fasten new drywall, and construct new interior framed walls for the bathrooms and office.

The second photo shows you our progress on the opposite end of the dining area.

These photos show the front dining area, where we’ve removed a wall to accommodate the new floor plan. We’ll be resurfacing the floor in this area to allow for a consistent floor sub-base. That wood will be used for framing, furring, and more.

The new bar area is shaping up nicely, as well. Just like in the dining room, we’ve removed the drywall, existing walls, floor tiles, and selectively removed existing HVAC and electrical. You can also see where we’ve cut the concrete to put in rough plumbing for the bar area for things like handwashing sinks and a soda machine.

Here, you can see our progress on the kitchen, where we’ve installed rough plumbing for the sink and cut the space for the bar.

Here you can see our progress of the demolition at the back of house, as well as the rough plumbing we’ve installed at the back of house.

We’ve made some great progress toward getting the restaurant ready and up-to-code so they can start serving their famous BBQ to the folks of Wauchula. We’re on pace to complete this object in November, just before the holidays.
