The team at AO Wagner Construction is making exceptional progress as the new gymnasium project for Victory Ridge Academy in Davenport nears completion.
We’re just as excited as the school community as the essential features of this project are completed and the finishing touches are underway! We’re proud to have turned this space into a modern, functional facility that will serve the students and staff for years to come.
Main Gymnasium Progress
Our workers have been diligently installing tectum finish panels along the ceiling, a process that began once the structural framing was in place.
These panels, chosen for their sound-absorbing properties and visual appeal, will help control acoustics and provide a polished look to the main athletic area. So far, a significant portion of the ceiling is complete, with the final sections scheduled for installation in the coming days.
Adding to the gym’s professional feel, brand-new scoreboards have been mounted at both ends of the court, giving students and fans a clear view of game stats during events. Basketball goals are also now fully installed and operational.
Locker Room and Adjacent Areas
Beyond the main court, the adjacent areas are advancing smoothly as well. Inside the newly built physical education office, the construction team is preparing for the installation of ceiling tiles and flooring, followed by the application of vinyl baseboards.
In the hallway, the ceiling grid, HVAC system, and electrical infrastructure are now in place, too paving the way for the next step: completing the ceiling tiles to achieve a finished look.
The plumbing systems in the bathrooms are roughed in and quality tiles laid on both walls and floors. With the foundational work complete, our focus will soon shift to installing bathroom fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and accessories to make sure the restrooms are ready for use.
Some of the other important spaces we’ve been working on include the foyer and the educational lab/fitness center. The foyer is awaiting the installation of ceiling grids, flooring, and baseboards while the fitness center is on track to receive specialized sports court flooring, matching the high-performance standards set in the main gym area.
As all these final elements come together, the vision for the new gymnasium is quickly becoming a reality!
