Two Roofs Going Up in Lake Wales for Repeat Customer Ten-8 Industrial

Our A.O. Wagner Construction team is happy to share yet another project with our repeat customer, Ten-8 Fire and Safety and its subsidiary, Ten-8 Industrials. Ten-8 is a leading force in emergency and vocational apparatus, fire equipment, PPE services, repair & service, and parts throughout the southeastern United States. This project involved new roofing for two of their newly acquired buildings in Lake Wales. Our goal was to deliver high-quality roofing to protect their daily operations and equipment.

Phase 1: Mechanic’s Shop Roof Installation

The first building, a mechanic’s shop measuring 80’x120’ with a lean-to area measuring 25’x50’, was built first. Our crew began by removing the existing metal sheets to create a clean state for what came next. We then followed with vinyl-backed insulation for better energy efficiency and condensation control.

Finally, we added 26-gauge, Galvalume R-Panel metal sheets for exceptional corrosion control, given the demanding weather conditions of Central Florida. We specifically picked Galvalume sheets over painted metal sheets because of their superior self-healing qualities, which will provide long-term protection to the structure.

We also upgraded the sidewalls of the lean-to area with new R-Panels, while also adding new gutters and downspouts, creating a fully watertight system to protect against Polk County’s heavy summer rains. The entirety of phase 1 took about one week to complete.

Phase 2: Warehouse and Office Roof Replacement

The second structure, a 100’ x 200’ warehouse with a 20’ x 15’ office area, was next up on the line. Following the same process of removing the existing metal roofing and installing new Galvalume R panels to give the roof a new life, we finished phase 2. We used pretty much the same material specs for both structures to ensure uniform functionality and aesthetics.

The project is on track for completion by November 18.

Built for Performance, Delivered With Care

Our team closely coordinated with the Ten-8 team at every step to ensure optimal functionality of their facilities. We focused on longevity, low maintenance, and superior endurance when choosing the material. Galvalume R panels also have a longer life span than painted metal sheets, meaning they will serve our clients at Ten-8 for years to come.

We prioritized our clients’ needs and recommendations for the project to ensure satisfaction. Learn more about their expanding facilities at ten8industrial.com.
