Re-roofing a commercial building is one of the most important investments a property owner can make. At Barton Storage in Auburndale, the A.O. Wagner Construction team is delivering a complete roof replacement across two pre-engineered metal buildings, backed by a 25-year materials warranty and built to last in Florida’s demanding climate.
Work began on May 15 and is expected to take approximately one month to complete.
The Scope
The two buildings total 12,800 square feet, with one building at 5,100 square feet and the other building at 7,700 square feet. Both are getting a full re-roof, which means the old trims and roof sheets are being removed entirely, the insulation is being replaced with new R-10 insulation, and new 26-gauge PBR roof panels in a Galvalume finish are going on in their place. Materials are supplied by Tri County Metals and Bay Insulation.
The Galvalume finish is worth noting for this build. It is a zinc and aluminum alloy coating applied to steel that provides long-term corrosion resistance, making it a smart choice for Florida’s demanding climate.
Working Around Active Tenants
One of the defining aspects of this project is that the offices below are occupied during construction. Those employees work normal business hours, which requires our team to take steps to consciously mitigate disruption to the tenants below.
