In our latest project highlight, A.O. Wagner Construction is excited to showcase a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) we recently supplied and erected in Zephyrhills for the Williams Company. This partnership brought together a top-tier general contractor and our specialized expertise in metal structures to deliver an essential amenity for the Pasco County School Board.
The Power of Partnership
Williams Company, a reputable firm with a strong presence across Orlando, Tampa, and Charlotte, N.C., is currently leading a multi-building initiative for Pasco County Schools. As part of our work, A.O. Wagner Construction was responsible for supplying and erecting the Play Court Canopy at West Zephyrhills Elementary to offer durability and comfort for students.
Technical Excellence With Butler Manufacturing
To ensure the highest quality for this 60’ x 60’ canopy, we used components from Butler Manufacturing. The structure features a Butler-Cote colored, MR-24 gauge standing seam metal roof, renowned for its industry-leading weathertight properties. To enhance the interior environment, we installed R-19 vinyl-backed insulation throughout the roof.
One of the more unique design features includes BRII skirt wall sheets installed around the top perimeter. These provide shade from the intense Florida sun while still allowing for maximum air flow and natural ventilation.
Precision Execution
Speed and precision are the hallmarks of pre-engineered systems. Our team was able to fully erect the primary steel structure, secondary galvanized wall and roof purlins, bracing, and the standing seam roof in just 10 days! The finished structure includes a comprehensive gutter downspout system to manage Florida’s Heavy rainfall effectively.
While conventional block buildings are being constructed nearby by other teams, the PEMB showcases the versatility of metal buildings in education settings by providing a lasting low-maintenance space where students can stay active rain or shine.
