Sebring’s St. Agnes Church Project Wraps Up in Style

It wasn’t long ago when our A.O. Wagner Construction team previously shared the early and near-completion phases at St. Agnes Church in Sebring, and now another area has wrapped up. The new gazebo has the church’s original bell, reinstalled in a custom bell tower to preserve its historic charm. What initially began as a deteriorated walkway and aging drive-through has become a sturdy, beautiful gathering space built to last.

A New Gazebo Steps on Old Ground

The old walkway and drive-through were removed and replaced with a 30′ × 30′ gazebo resting on a repurposed 20′ × 20′ concrete slab. The structure features wood framing, steel tube columns, and matching metal roofing, ensuring it honors the aesthetic of the existing sanctuary. At the top, the historic bell has been installed within a new bell tower, bringing both function and symbolism to the design.

Interior Comfort With Character & Utility

Under the gazebo ceiling, 1×6 tongue-and-groove custom wood planks were installed and painted to match the church’s style. LED lighting and ceiling fans were wired into the structure, along with receptacles for event use (coffee makers, etc.). The vented soffit supports airflow and comfort year-round.

Driveway & Walkway Enhancements

The approach to the church now features a freshly rebuilt drive-through canopy and walkway. With matching standing seam metal roofing and precise wood framing, this area balances durability with visual cohesion. New concrete pads and freshly painted structural components complete the design.

Built for Function, Designed for Legacy

From an engineering standpoint, the project blends structural precision (steel columns set on leveled piers) with warming details (tongue-and-groove planks, soffits, bell tower). The electrical design accommodates community gatherings and events with reliability. The roof systems and siding ensure moisture and maintenance protection for years to come.

It all began as a way to preserve. Now, it’s a structure meant to host. The renovation speaks to St. Agnes Church’s commitment to community, legacy, and functional beauty. The gazebo isn’t merely built; it’s offered as a lasting landmark in covenanted craftsmanship.
