Our A.O. Wagner Construction team began a carefully planned four-phased renovation project in mid-February at the McLeod Hall inside the First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. The interior remodel progression has not slowed and remains on track for completion by the end of July. With church operations continuing throughout, here’s the latest project update.
Front Lobby Ceiling
The front lobby now has a brighter, more welcoming entry with a new ceiling grid, acoustical tiles, and updated lighting. These changes create a great first impression and reflect the high-quality upgrades made throughout McLeod Hall.

Fellowship Hall
After removing the existing ceiling and outdated lighting, we installed and stained the oak faux beams across the ceiling. We began wrapping the structural columns with wood cladding and painting them white. Each beam will also house light fixtures, designed to illuminate the new ceiling system. The next step is installing new carpet tiles and painting.

Kitchen
Behind the scenes, this area received long-overdue upgrades, including two mini-split HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control and more comfort. Damaged FRP panels have been repaired, and a new ceiling grid was installed. Next, installing acoustical ceiling tiles will complete this high-traffic, functional space.

Centennial Room
We installed a new ceiling grid and tiles inside this room and upgraded the lighting. Our crew is prepping the walls for painting and new carpet tiles. These updates are designed to create a versatile space that supports daily church activities and special events.

Men’s Restroom
One of the more visible updates has taken shape in the men’s restroom. We’ve installed durable ceramic floor and wall tiles and new partitions that provide private spaces. Soon, ceramic base trim, acoustical ceiling tiles for sound control, and new light fixtures will complete this section.

Men’s ADA Restroom
The ADA-compliant men’s restroom receives similar finishes, minus the partitions, mirroring the enhancements made to the main men’s restroom. It now has a ceramic floor and wall tile, matching the other upgrades. The next step will include installing accessories for the ceiling and adding exposed spiral ductwork for the HVAC system.
