Phase 2 construction at Victory Ridge Academy in Davenport is moving at a pace that is hard not to notice! Since we shared our most recent update in March, the A.O. Wagner Construction team has made serious headway on all four buildings in this phase and the changes are hard to miss.
Upper Level Classroom Building: Stucco Applied and Moving Inside
The Upper Level Classroom building, which will house students in grades 6-12, is one of the furthest along on the site. The roof is dried in, the exterior walls have stucco applied, and the metal roof panel system installation is coming up next. Inside, stud framing to shape out the individual classrooms will begin soon.
Cafeteria: Walls Up, Roof Joists Coming
The cafeteria, which will be built as a continuation off of the gymnasium and locker room complex, has all exterior building walls completed. Roof joists are set to begin installation by the end of the month, with storefront glass walls to follow. Once the glass goes in, interior work will quickly take shape.
Covered Play Pavilion: Slab Poured, Steel Going Up
The covered play pavilion, which is a pre-engineered metal building will serve as an outdoor gymnasium. We know the students will appreciate the respite from the Florida sun! The pavilion has its foundation slab poured and steel erection is set to begin any day. The portion of the building that will house bathrooms and storage rooms has already been formed and ready for the roof. This one is expected to come together fast, and we look forward to sharing updates soon.
Skills Lab: Taking Shape
The skills lab, also a pre-engineered metal building, is nearly complete and the structure as a whole continues to take shape. This facility will give older students a dedicated space for hands-on instruction in independent life and career skills.
The Bigger Picture
Site work across Phase 2 will continue to progress as each building wraps up, though the most visible changes on the ground will come closer to the end of the project. In the meantime, keep an eye out! Some outdoor activity and playground areas are on the horizon, including the ELC playground coming soon.
