PEMB Fully Enclosed, Interior Buildout Begins at Florida Brewery Expansion in Auburndale

The scope of the Florida Brewery expansion in Auburndale is hard to miss. Since our last update in March, the A.O. Wagner construction team has fully enclosed the new NUCOR pre-engineered metal building and moved on to the interior buildout on both floors. As a reminder, this three-phrase project includes a new two-story, 7,100-square-foot building designed to house offices, conference rooms, restrooms, and breakrooms for the brewery’s operational and administrative staff, as well as an adjacent 4,800-square-foot production area. Here is where things stand today:

A New Structure, Fully Enclosed

From above, the scale of this addition is clear. The new building, featuring a standing seam roof, ties directly into the existing Florida Brewery facility, creating a seamless connection between old and new. The two-story office building and production floor expansion are both fully enclosed and visible from the air.

On the ground, the building reads as a seamless, purpose-built addition. The entrance side, where brewery employees will access the facility, has openings ready for new storefront glass windows and doors. The entry on the front of the building for office staff is similarly prepped and waiting on storefront glass.

On the production side, each opening is sized for a new overhead rollup door and bug screen, giving the brewery the access points it needs to move equipment and product.

Inside the Production Area

Step inside the production floor expansion and the footprint speaks for itself. At 4,800 square feet, there is enough floor space here for the brewery to mirror its existing bottling and pasteurizing capabilities. This addition essentially doubles production capacity with room for new equipment and improved workflow.

Looking back from the production floor toward the two-story office buildout, you can see just how much is happening on the other side of the building.

The Two-Story Office Buildout

In relation to the office buildout, the interior of the office building is active on both floors. On the first floor, the breakroom is framed out with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) rough-ins underway. A temporary wall separates the active construction zone from daily factory operations, keeping the brewery running while work continues around it. This space will ultimately receive new electrical and plumbing, drywall and paint, polished concrete flooring, millwork for kitchen appliances, and a new acoustical ceiling.

The stairwell connecting the two floors is already in place, with the steel stair structure installed and the surrounding framing moving forward.

Upstairs, the second floor office space is framed and the polished concrete flooring is already down. This gives a preview of what this space will look like. DensGlass shaftliner is installed throughout, and the framing that is up lays out the office floor plan clearly. Like the first floor, this level will receive new electrical and plumbing, drywall and paint, millwork, and a new acoustical ceiling to serve the brewery’s administrative team.
