The A.O. Wagner team recently completed a multi-scope concrete project for Crystal Clean’s East Tampa Branch in Plant City, Florida. Crystal Clean provides a range of environmental services tailored to long-term sustainable waste management across Central Florida, and we were proud to support their operations with essential site improvements designed to enhance durability, efficiency, and traffic flow.
The project included demolition and reconstruction of a damaged Sump Pump box, installation of 220 feet of new concrete curb, and the formation and pouring of a new concrete slab. All of this was completed efficiently within a five-day timeline.
Rebuilding the Sump Pump Box
The original sump pump box had suffered significant damage and was no longer able to support the weight or flow of semi-truck traffic, which is a critical need for Crystal Clean’s service yard. To fix this, we cut the existing asphalt, installed a rebar mat for structural reinforcement, and poured new concrete to rebuild the box.
Our team worked smoothly and efficiently, keeping the project on track. We formed the area for a new trench drain and grate for proper flow and long-term durability.
Installing 220’ of New Concrete Curb
We formed and reinforced 220 feet of new concrete curb along the railroad-side parking area. To increase structural strength, we placed rebar throughout before pouring the concrete. Once poured, the forms were stripped to create a clean, uniform edge. The curb installation will help manage traffic flow, protect the pavement edge, and ensure site safety.
New Driveway Slab
To prepare for the new driveway slab, we removed the asphalt section and used rebar to reinforce the new concrete.
The driveway slab was poured with a broom finish, which is important for durability and traction, especially in high-use industrial environments.
