Metal Canopies Complete as Polk Septage Receiving Station Enters Home Stretch

The Polk Septage Receiving Station in Winter Haven has hit a major milestone. All eight Butler Manufacturing pre-engineered metal canopies are complete, and the operations building is approaching completion. Since our previous update, the crew has wrapped up the canopy structures and pushed deep into the interior finish work on the operations building.

This project is being completed on behalf of C&T Contracting Services, a Tampa Bay-based firm specializing in structural concrete and masonry with a strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure.

All Eight Canopies Complete

Every one of the eight Butler Manufacturing canopy structures on site has received its trim, ridge cap, gutters, and downspouts, and is now complete. Butler has been advancing steel construction since 1901, bringing precision, innovation, and engineering discipline to every structure they produce. That legacy of reliability and performance is reflected in these canopies, which are already putting that reputation to work with equipment moving in underneath them across the site.

The last canopy erected features skirt walls on two sides, added specifically to shade the equipment housed beneath it.

Looking across the broader site, the scale of this work comes into full view, with multiple completed canopy structures visible alongside the larger facility infrastructure.

Operations Building: Roof On, Interior Work Underway

The operations building has made significant strides since our first update. The metal roof is fully installed on both sides of the building, with stucco and paint as the next steps for the exterior.

Inside, the bathroom and shower areas are well into their finishing work. Drywall is installed and tile work is underway on the walls. Remaining steps include paint, acoustical ceiling, flooring, and electrical and HVAC trim-out. The shower area is framed and ready for fixture installation.

This is the final stretch for the Polk Septage Receiving Station, and we look forward to sharing a full project recap once everything is complete.
