Seven months into Phase 2 of construction at Victory Ridge Academy in Davenport, and the pace of progress is hard to miss. Since our last update, the crew has pushed forward on every building on site, with roofing, interior framing, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) rough-ins, and sitework all active simultaneously. This is one of the busiest stretches of the project so far, and the photos show the scale of progress.
Upper-Level Classroom
The ULC has hit several milestones in quick succession. Metal roofing is complete, which means the building is dried in and interior trades can work without interruption. Interior framing is on track to wrap up this week, ducting and drywall installation are actively underway, and gutters and downspouts are being installed along the exterior. The building is closing in on its finished form.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is one of the busier buildings on site right now, with multiple scopes of work running at the same time. TPO roofing is nearly complete, providing weather protection for the interior work happening inside. Wall framing and soffit construction are continuing alongside fire sprinkler installation and MEP rough-ins. Storefront glass is scheduled for installation in the coming weeks, which will be one of the more visible milestones for this building. We know this, along with the gym, is going to be a major gathering place for students on this campus, and we are excited for them to see the final product.
Covered Pavilion
The covered pavilion is one of the farthest along structures on the Phase 2 site. The roof is complete and the MEP rough-ins have begun. The next major milestone for this site is sports equipment installation and court surfacing, which is scheduled to begin July 27. Louvers, which are slatted architectural elements used to control airflow, block direct sunlight, and deflect rain or debris, are estimated for delivery on August 21, after which the pavilion will be very close to complete.
Skills Building
The Skills Building has great progress both inside and out. Exterior painting is complete, giving the building a finished look from the outside while interior work continues. Inside, framing, MEP rough-ins, and fire sprinkler installation are all active. The PEMB overhang is nearly complete as well, which will finish out the exterior profile of the building.
Sitework
Across the broader campus, sitework is keeping pace with the building work. Walkway canopies are going up throughout the site, connecting the buildings and beginning to define the finished feel of the campus. The Covered Pavilion planter has been built up with CMU walls and filled with dirt, and ELC playground installation is planned by the end of July.
