Commercial renovations in busy, high-profile environments require careful planning, strict safety protocols, and a keen eye for detail.
Recently, A.O. Wagner Construction completed a major exterior overhaul for Legoland, a high-traffic entertainment venue in Winter Haven, delivering a refreshed look while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
Night Work and Specialized Equipment
To keep the venue operating smoothly, we scheduled all heavy, noisy, and highly visible work during the night shift, operating strictly from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Our team brought in specialized equipment, including aerial lifts and mast lighting, to work safely and efficiently after hours. Before any demolition began, we also prepped the site with protective coverings and temporary support poles to safeguard the surrounding areas.
Exterior Teardown and Structural Upgrades
The project required an extensive exterior teardown and structural update, with close attention to detail. We pressure-washed the facade to clear debris before removing the main front and right entry canopies, disconnecting base plates, and cutting anchors below surface grade.
We also stripped away the old red-painted architectural paneling, removed the right-side tent structure, and safely disposed of all old graphic panels, flooring, and banners.
To merge old and new aesthetics, our crew installed two new small canopy structures and carefully supplied and leveled about 200 square feet of pavers, working hard to match the weathered look of the existing stones.
Inside the queue area, we adjusted chain-linked ropes, safely mounted new floor posts, and made sure the ADA access path remained completely clear during the entire process.
Next, we identified and repaired delaminated stucco, applying a fresh stucco system and skim coat to give the front facade a uniform, seamless finish rather than a patched appearance.
From there, we painted all four sides of the building using premium exterior paint, managed canopy electrical updates, and installed new venue signage. The project wrapped up with a comprehensive site cleanup, including dumpster disposal and final pressure washing, leaving the property completely pristine.
