When Legoland needed its Guest Services facility revitalized, the A.O. Wagner Construction team was ready to deliver. This is the latest in a series of projects we have completed at this busy, high-profile venue, and like the work that came before it, this one required quality execution in a space that sees thousands of visitors every day.
Demo First
Every good renovation starts with a clean slate. The team began by removing the existing tile wall, taking out the front counter, and pulling out all the baseboards. With the space stripped back, the full scope of what needed to happen next became clear.
New Drywall and Electric Overhaul
With demo complete, our crew got to work on the drywall. We supplied and installed new drywall at the rear wall and patched and repaired the ceiling.
The lighting and electrical components also got a complete refresh. The old ceiling lighting was removed and replaced with ten new recessed lights, giving the space a clean, modern look. Surface-mounted wiring was eliminated, and new outlets were installed along the rear wall, at the front counter, and data drop boxes and conduit were added at the counter positions for future data cabling.
An Inviting New Counter
The centerpiece of the renovation is the new front counter. It was fabricated and installed from scratch, complete with swing doors, a skim-coated and painted finish, and a quartz countertop. This durable, polished piece will hold up to the daily demands of a busy guest-facing operation.
Flooring, Trim, and Paint
The old vinyl flooring was removed, the concrete subfloor prepped, and new glue-down vinyl flooring was installed throughout. New 1×6 baseboards with shoe molding were furnished and installed, and the entire space (including trim) was primed and painted with a fresh and welcoming coat of paint. Finally, our crews oversaw clean-up making sure the space was move-in ready and guest-facing from the moment the doors opened.
