A local Winter Haven business requested our A.O. Wagner Construction team inspect their First Aid building. When we stepped in to restore, reinforce, and modernize, we uncovered years of water intrusion from leaking windows, foundation issues, and significant damage requiring structural repairs, waterproofing, and interior upgrades. Here’s a closer look at the steps we are taking to get this building back into tip-top shape.
Interior Upgrade for a Cleaner, Safer Space
The interior was completely overhauled, with new drywall, fresh paint, and bathroom tile replacements. This wasn’t just about aesthetics—the interior needed more function and longevity to help ensure the space remained clean and safe. Our upgrades will provide employees and customers with a safer, more functional environment.

Water Damage and Structural Repairs
Our inspection revealed moisture exposure along with hidden damage, particularly where the walls met the slab and around the windows. Our team removed deteriorated stucco to restore the structure’s integrity and locate any additional damages.
Next, they replaced rotting wood framing, ensuring a stable foundation, and installed new vapor and water barriers to prevent future leaks. These improvements will help protect against moisture intrusion, extending the life of the building.

Upgrading Windows and Exterior Finishes
We also discovered that the existing windows were leaking, letting in heat during the summer and cold air during the winter.
To improve energy performance and durability, the new design included:
- Upgraded framing for better structural support.
- Insulated tinted glass to reduce glare and heat transfer.
- New stucco application, color-matched to blend perfectly with the existing structure.
Once complete, the freshly painted exterior will give the building a modern and newer look, complementing the surrounding property.
Long-Term Benefits and Completion Date
The First Aid building will finally be transformed with new framing, upgraded waterproofing, and newer finishes inside and out. It will remain reliable, durable, and efficient for many years. We started the project February 15 with structural repairs, enhanced waterproofing, and modern finishes. It is expected to be completed by March 15.
