Demolition Begins on a Brand-New Build for Jarrett-Gordon Ford in Winter Haven

Something big is happening at 3015 Lake Alfred Road in Winter Haven. The A.O. Wagner Construction team has broken ground on a complete rebuild of the Jarrett-Gordon Ford dealership, and the transformation starts from the ground up, literally. We have worked with Jarrett-Gordon Ford in the past on their Davenport location and Winter Haven site and are proud to be a part of this new Winter Haven project.

Over the course of six days, the existing building came down piece by piece, clearing the way for a brand-new facility that will redefine the dealership experience for the Winter Haven community. The renderings below, provided by C&K Architects, offer a glimpse of what’s coming. The new facility will feature floor-to-ceiling storefront glass, a dramatic entrance canopy with a prominent Ford logo, dedicated EV charging stations, and a modern service wing. This will be a complete rebuild from the building that stood here before.

Day 1: Demolition Begins

Demolition kicked off with excavators working from the rooftop down. Aerial drone shots from Day 1 capture the full scale of the existing building and show the first sections of the roof and service wing beginning to come apart. A temporary power pole was also installed on site to maintain three-phase power throughout the process, keeping site lighting and the existing lift station operational and supporting construction needs going forward.

Day 2: The Service Wing

By day 2 of demolition, the service wing was largely gone with two Komatsu excavators working in tandem to sort and stage materials for removal. The cleared footprint was already visible, giving a sense of just how much ground the new building will have to work with.

Day 3: The Showroom Opens Up

Day 3 of demolition brought the interior of the showroom into full view as the surrounding walls came down. Ground-level shots show cinder block rubble, twisted steel, and the Komatsu excavator working through the debris. This is a close-up look at the raw scale of what demolition at this level involves.

Day 4: The Slab Emerges

With most of the structure down by day 4, the concrete slab began to emerge across the site. The two Komatsu excavators worked side by side clearing the remaining structure, and the open footprint of the property became fully visible for the first time. Here you can see the scope of the new build started to come into focus.

Day 5: Taking Down the Showroom Facade and Digging Out the Footers

Day 5 tackled the showroom facade and started the work of digging out the existing footers and concrete foundations. This was one of the more labor-intensive parts of the process. Close-up shots show the exposed footings, the curved steel beam of the old entrance canopy still standing briefly before coming down, and excavators cutting into the earth to remove the foundation below.

Day 6: A Clean Slate

By the morning of day 6, the building was gone. Now, there is a wide-open site with only the last bits of debris being staged for haul-off. That early morning drone shot with the long excavator shadows stretching across the empty lot with the Ford sign still standing at the edge of the property showcases perfectly the breadth of this project.

The Jarrett-Gordon Ford dealership is still open and operating right next door while the new building takes shape. We encourage you to make a visit!

The full demolition process is expected to take approximately 2.5 weeks to complete, including the removal of all remaining debris, footers, and concrete foundations. Once complete and permitted plans are finalized in collaboration with Ford and C&K Architects, the rebuild begins, with an estimated 18-month construction timeline ahead.
