New Roof, New You

A.O. Wagner recently expanded into offering residential roofing services. While it is a newer venture for us, we have been offering commercial construction work in the Central Florida market for over 60 years. We’ve built long-lasting relationships in the community and have a reputation providing high-quality work that fits our customers’ needs.

For a little bit more about our choice to enter the residential roofing market, check out this blog post.

We are proud of our work, so this week we are choosing to highlight two reroof projects we recently wrapped up.

For our Warner University project in Lake Wales, we worked on the Williams Hall roof, a men’s residence hall. We used Atlas shingles as the material for this 20,000-square-foot project. The coastal granite shade is a nice contrast from the rest of the building. Working on this space only took us three days to complete.

This second project, a house at 513 Sample Avenue in Lake Hamilton, is a lot smaller and took less time. You can see that our client’s original roof was a shade of brown, but we decided to take a different direction to help the roof really pop. We used coastal granite on this roof as well, giving the building a more refined look. We only spent one day on this 4,000-square-foot project.

When Is It Time for a New Roof?

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of a sturdy roof. Here are a few signs to look for to know when your roof is ready for some work:

  • Your roof has a lifespan: Experts say most asphalt shingles last about 20 to 25 years. If your roof is approaching this timeline, it’s time to start considering a reroof.
  • Missing, discolored or sagging shingles: Wear and tear is normal, but weakened or damaged shingles leave your home at risk of damage to the walls, ceilings, support beams and more.
  • Water damage: Water damage is nothing to take lightly because leaks don’t get better on their own, and can potentially bring mold or pests into your space.
  • Going green: Moss and algae thrive in damp conditions. Continued growth of unwanted plants shortens the lifespan of your roof.
